Christopher Martin delivered an energetic performance at Vauxhall High School for Fame's School Rules, last Thursday. Once a Rising Star, Artiste of the Month, Martin proved himself a full-fledged star in the eyes of the students.
When the STAR team arrived at the school after 2 p.m., Fame DJ Colin Hinds was setting the auditorium ablaze with Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous Girl, the girls also one two stepped with Ciara. It was a dancing evening as Hinds pulled up some old dancing tunes as the students 'thunderclapped', 'rocked away' causing quite an 'excitement'. While most danced, a group of boys avidly watched Hinds do his thing on the wheels of steel. In the midst of the music, screams erupted signalling the approach of Christopher Martin to the stage.
The back of the auditorium cleared as the girls immediately ran to the front, screaming 'Christopher!' at the top of their lungs.
However, he did not go on-stage immediately, as Colin Hinds continued selecting the hottest tunes such as Vegas' 'Hot Wuk' as Martin chatted with on air with Fame Fm. One young lady side-stepped the prefects to go on-stage, sneaked to the back of the stage and hugged Martin vigorously before she was ushered off. A mother brought her shy daughter on-stage to meet Chris, who immediately put her in his lap. He talked with her and gave her a big hug before she left with a smile.
Then it was time for a quick Q&A, as students answered questions about Chris to win a picture of the star. Emcee, Simone Clarke-Cooper, had to scamper back as the girls rushed towards stage to win a picture.
It was time for peace, love and good music as Chris came on stage saying, "Its all about peace and love, if you want peace put your hands in the air," as he sang Put A Little Love in Your Hearts. Then it was the ladies segment as Chris serenaded one lucky girl who rocked with him quite suggestively until she was pulled off him by the Fame team. After giving it to them right, Chris sang Since I've Been Loving You, the girls screamed harder.
The boys weren't left out, as Chris told them to "get close to a girl". He proceeded to bring another girl on-stage and serenaded her as well. Chris ended on a high note as he sang Intoxication; the crowd sang along. School Rules undoubtedly continued with a bang, as Christopher Martin left the crowd breathless.
