Cops hunt for hit-and-run driver

Spanish Town

The Police sAY that they are still searching for a motorist who was involved in a hit-and-run accident along the Spanish Town Bypass which killed a man on Sunday about 6:30 a.m.

According to the police, 46-year-old Oliver Cohen a labourer of Beacon Hill District, Spanish Town was walking along the bypass and was in the process of crossing when he was hit by a passing motorist who did not stop. He later died in hospital from his injuries.

Sergeant Stanley Gardener of the St. Catherine north traffic department said that the police are following certain leads, and are warning both motorists and pedestrians to be very careful on the streets, more so at this time of the year.
