A woman who has not seen her mother for more than 25 years is now asking the public to help her to find her again.
Nicole Townsend, 32 said she wants to meet her mother. She says that she wants her to know she has a good life and wants her children to meet their grandmother. "I just want to meet her. I don't want anything from her. I just want her to see who I turned out to be," she said.
Townsend said her mother took her from Kingston, where she was born, to Clarendon to live with her grandmother and since then she has not seen her. She says she spent a few years in the country and then returned to the city where she met her mother's brother but this did not prove helpful as she also lost contact with that relative and since then all chances of finding her mother. "Her name is Pauline Allen and she is from Manchester ... she would be about 56 years-old now," she said.
Townsend said she knows that her mother had other children, some of whom she grew up with. "I don't know what she looked like. She used to work at a shoe place in Half-Way Tree ... I don't know the name of the place," she said.
She said she is not angry with her for leaving her behind. "No matter what, I forgive her. I don't have any hatred in my heart for her," she said. She also added that she is willing to love her. "If I can find it in my heart to love her as a mother, I will."
