Allegations are that on May 17 last year about 1:30 p.m., a D&G delivery truck stopped at Brompton Hall district near Nain, St. Elizabeth, to do delivery. While dropping off goods, six men travelling in a black Toyota motor car went to the shop and and robbed the driver, the businesswoman, her attendant and other persons of money, jewellery and cellphones.
They stole more than $100,000 and used duct tape to bind the hands and feet of their victims.
One of the men proceeded to drive the truck away along with three others.
On reaching Junction Square in the parish, the men jumped from the truck as it moved, causing the vehicle to crash into parked cars before coming to a stop.
The police were called and during an exchange of gun fire between the police and the men, one man was held and a Smith and Wesson revolver with five rounds and one spent shell was found on him. Cash amounting to $76,000 was also taken from him.
He was later identified as Kirk Linton and was also pointed out at an identification parade.
