Let there be light

This stop light at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and Arthur Wint Dr., St. Andrew needs bushing. - Norman Grindley

As a part of of our mission to be the people paper, The Star has been highlighting problem areas across the island. Our reporter Sacha Walters, along with Norman Grindley, will focus on a particular area until the problem is fixed. Now we will have a rough idea of how long the relevant authorities take to deal with some of the problems affecting our country.

A new addition to our Fix This list is a traffic light which needs to be cleared of bushes that have overrun it.

The light, which is located at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and Arthur Wint Drive, is at a major thoroughfare for motorists. It could prove much more of a problem if it is left unattended any longer.

Two other problems which remain on our list.

The broken sidewalk at the intersection of North Street and Pryce Lane has remained unattended for more than three months. Then, when it comes to Aldene Drive, off Washington Boulevard, the potholes are still in tact. The Star has been featuring it for five weeks.

Hopefully next week, the National Works Agency and the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation will sove the problem, giving the citizens a reprieve.
