ON NINJA'S MIND
What is Ninja thinking about today? The Star explores what's on the mind of one of the most opinionated deejays in the dancehall. Today, Ninja gives his thoughts on what made him famous : CLASHES.
STAR: What do you think about people trying to stop clashes in the dancehall (on and off stage)?
Ninja: People try come talk bout squash clashes, a some set of idiot who waan stop unison. Clashes start from day one. Dem a tek it out of di dancehall and put it on mainstream in Rising Stars and mek a money off it. A nuh di same ting dem a do? A compete gainst one anodda? My intention is to launch gainst it. If dem waan stop di clashes, mi nah support Rising Stars. Yuh kno how much people mek it through clashes. How yuh tink people know me? Mi kill three man inna Sting. How Noddy and Chris get known? Dem compete!
STAR: So, you think clashes are still necessary in the dancehall?
Ninja: It necessary in dancehall. If a producer a try stop a person, den dem clash fi build dere name. Is either yuh get recognise or yuh flop or yuh get notorious.
