JFF acts tough

Wray and Nephew National Premier League leaders Waterhouse were fined $50,000 for incidents following the first round final at the National Stadium last Wednesday.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) competitions committee met yesterday and made the ruling.

Also coming out of the meeting, Waterhouse defender Craig White has been referred to the JFF's disciplinary committee for comments allegedly made to the referee. He is banned from participating in all Premier League games until he faces the disciplinary committee.

The JFF has also reprimanded two Waterhouse spectators for bringing the game into disrepute.

Robert "Blacka" Ricketts has been banned with immediate effect from all football stadia for the remainder of the season for uncontrollable behaviour and threats made at the referee.

Daniel Gordon has been referred to the JFF disciplinary committee for abusive comments made at the referee.

After Waterhouse's 1-0 loss to Harbour View last Wednesday, several Waterhouse supporters threw stones and plastic bottles on the field and verbally abused the coaching staff and the officials.
