A woman accused of throwing urine and faeces at her neighbour, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Ophelia O'Connor, of a Tavern Drive, Papine address, is accused of attacking her neighbour after a fuss.
According to court documents, on August 15, at about 7 a.m., the complainant was fixing his fence and went into O'Connor's yard to fix a part of it. He was reportedly attacked by O'Connor who asked what he was doing in her yard. The complainant alleges that she came out with a bucket and threw the contents at him. Her said the liquid which smelled like urine fell on his head, face and clothes.
He also alleges that the accused left and returned with seven men, one of whom threatened him. A private prosecution was made, and a summons was served on O'Connor.
When the two appeared before RM Judith Pusey, the complainant's witness told the court that O'Connor threw urine at the complainant and faeces in the yard.
"Your honour, she don't have a toilet, that's why she doing it," she said.
Though she initially pleaded not guilty, O'Connor told the court that the complainant was not innocent but admitted, "I had something in a bucket and I threw it."
RM Pusey chastised both parties, telling them, "Stop this excrement war! This is the 21st century." O'Connor was bound over in the sum of $1,000 in her own surety, to maintain the peace for six months.
