THE EDITOR, Sir:
Kindly allow me space in your newspaper to express views re the recent Rising Stars competition. I must say that there was a wealth of talent that was exposed. Take, for instance, people such as the group One third, Nickeisha Barnes, and Suzanne Perkins, to name a few, but I am telling you the group One third was awesome! Everything they did was well done.
There is a saying that states 'hard work brings success.' One Third is a perfect example of this. I am extremely happy with the outcome, knowing that this group was my choice. From the first time I saw them performing on television, I knew that they would come out on top.
For the people who were saying that the group could not win in Rising Stars, I am sure that you must realise by now that one should not just limit yourself to one way of life or thinking, for that matter. You should explore your thoughts and try to have an open mind towards new things or happenings in life. If this is not your formula then you are setting up yourself to fail.
To all the positive people like me, I am saying to you, stay positive. To the negative ones, try to be positive for a change. To One third, the new Rising Stars for 2006, nuff love, respect, and congratulations are in order for you. and please remember to pray together in order for you to stay together in love and unity.
In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to some of the major sponsors such as Digicel, Pepsi, The Star and TVJ for bringing to us such a great show as Rising Stars. In my opinion it is the most anticipated show aired weekly on Television Jamaica. We are going to miss it so much. We cannot wait for the new season next year. Until then, as our dear departed cultural icon, Miss Lou, would say, "Walk good and meck good duppy follow you."
