Reuters - West Indies' Christopher Gayle reacts after winning their semi-final match against South Africa in the ICC Champions Trophy in Jaipur on Thursday.

West Indies opener Chris Gayle says the regional side has "unfinished business" to settle with Australia, when the two teams meet in the ICC Champions Trophy final tomorrow.

"We have unfinished business definitely. We beat them twice but they won on the big occasion in the final [of the DLF Cup in Malaysia]," Gayle said following the West Indies six-wicket win over South Africa in the semi-final on Thursday.

"This is another final for us to go out there and try and pull this one off. This is even a bigger tournament so it would be nice to come out on top of the Aussies. It's going to be competitive and it's going to be tough."

Gayle was instrumental in setting up the West Indies meeting with Australia, stroking a brilliant, unbeaten 133 as the regional side overhauled South Africa's 258 for eight.

He shared an opening stand of 154 with Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who cracked 57 before retiring hurt with leg cramps.

"The plan was not to lose early wickets, that we did pretty well out there ... I thought it was a good wicket to bat on. Shiv batted well. Basically, I just played my normal game, to go out there and enjoy it the same," Gayle said.

"The South Africa captain (Graeme Smith) always stressed that their bowlers are their key for this tournament, and the key bowlers didn't get any wickets early today, and that set them back a bit and worked to our advantage as well.

"We just stuck to our basic plans. There is a bit of pressure here and there at times but once you get over it things become easy."

Gayle, voted Man-of-the-Match for his superb knock, praised Chanderpaul's role in the victory.

"Shiv is a guy that can outscore me at any time. He's an experienced player and I enjoy batting with him. If I am on the go Shiv tends to give me the strike and rotate the strike," Gayle noted.

"He is a tremendous player, all around the wicket and whenever he is ready to step it up he can step it up. Shiv can destroy any bowling attack whenever he is ready. He's very dangerous."
