Da'Ville eats some of the food he cooked during his 'day in the life' with THE STAR. - Andre Jebbinson
Da'ville is quickly becoming a big star, but that's Da'ville the entertainer.
A day in the life of Orville Thomas, whose simple laid back daily affairs resemble that of any ordinary person, is quite different from what is expected of someone who spend a lot of his time touring.
"I am a man who just want deh home most of the time just a relax and probably play mi game," he said. "If mi haffi guh voice two rhythm, mi guh a di studio den come back home."
Stay fit
He woke up around 8 a.m. after returning home around 4 a.m from the studios earlier that morning. As an entertainer, it is important for the tall entertainer to stay fit.
"You know mi wake up in the morning, do mi ting and then put on some kym (gym) clothes and work out," Da'ville said.
In fact, Da'ville was just returning from the gym when THE STAR team caught up with him on Monday.
The team then journeyed with the artiste to his secluded apartment in the hills.
Da'ville packed away a few grocery items he had picked up at the grocery store and proceeded to make lunch.
But while Da'ville kept himself busy in the kitchen, The Star team also got busy on the newly released God Father, The Game on Da'ville's brand new Xbox.
"Me is a real game head. Me deh in di hotel a New York bored and mi guh out and buy the system," he said.
Then, the posse arrived. The gang of DJ Shuggo Gold, Bobby Lick Shot and Engineer Ritchie turned up to spend the day with Daville and to more importantly partake of what was on the menu.
The gang took turns at making a mockery of Daville's game in good fun.
After a long wait, the meal was ready. Let the eating begin!
The silence was deafening once the stewed fish with rice and peas was served.
"Singer, yuh coulda open a restaurant," Bobby Lick Shot uttered between bites.
By this time, the day had been far spent on just liming, but it was time to hit the studios. The entertainer cleaned himself up and left the apartment. On the way to the car, two high school girls who live a floor above Daville could not help but sing the refrain of Daville's Always On My Mind.
The gang was about to part company but not before they were given a preview of what he was working on the night before. Right there in the middle of the parking lot, Daville cranked up his car radio with a soundtrack and spontaneously gave a live performance. Then it was off to the studios.
