Center Stage with Da'Ville

Da'Ville - Contributed

Stage name: Da'Ville

Real name: Orville Thomas

Birth date: 24th January

How did you get started in the business? "My father was a producer and a deejay and so he was actually the first person to take me to the studio."

What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet? "So many, the challenge of trying to get myself out there by becoming known to the public."

What have you been up to lately? " I'm currently finalising my album to be released here in Jamaica, and will be going on an European tour in the next two weeks."

Do you look up to any specific artiste? Many, but most notable Beres Hammond and Maxi Priest. I'm also a big fan of Lenny kravitz.

Are you happy with the way things are going for your career right now? Yes, I'm now getting the exposure and the chance to do, the type of music I've always wanted to do and bring it across to the audience."

Anything you'd like to change about it? No

What are your future plans? To still be Da'Ville and to start performing and writing music on a bigger scale. I would also like to do a little producing."

Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up? First thing is to make sure God is a part of whatever you're doing, because without him nothing is possible and next thing is to know what is it you want and make up your mind to go after it."
