Having a hissy fit

Dear Pastor,

I have been reading your column now for nearly two years and I have to say that the advice you give is really spot on.

You are straight to the point with your response which I find to be very positive; you give the readers or people who write to you something to think about.

I am a single mother with two children; the eldest is 22. She has been suffering from epilepsy since she was seven. Sometimes it is unbearable.

To tell you the truth, there have been times when I believe that God has left me.

I believe at the times that I was going through 'bad luck.' I have friends, which I have helped.

They had more than I, but they still look to me for help. I even have friends who steal other women's men just to prove a point.

Over the years I have had to deal with a lot of situations in my life.

Angry at God

I have been angry with God that I want to call it a day. I tried to kill myself at age 18, but it didn't work.

The reason I have written to you is because I want to tell everybody to hope in God. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I know God loves me. I may not have a man in my life which I would dearly love, but in life I can't have everything. I have a good job; I do voluntary work which I have done for two years. I help people to start there lives and I love every moment of it.

J.A., Birmingham, England

Dear J.A.,

I am sorry to learn that your daughter has been suffering for a long time. However, I am glad that you are a woman of faith.

Too bad that many of your friends are ungodly and believe that it is fun to seduce married men. Such friends you should not keep.

It is time that you wake up and use sanctified common sense. Learn to say no at times. God wants you to be kind but not naive or foolish.

Thanks for sharing. Give God praise at all times. Be comforted by Psalm 139. God bless you, sister.

Pastor
