Fix it please

A section of the sidewalk at the intersection of North Street and Price Lane in Kingston needs urgent attention as it is quite dangerous for pedestrians. - Norman Grindley

In the Star's quest to initiate change and acknowledge improvements, we will be identifying a problem and focusing on it until it is fixed.

Last Friday, we highlighted a sidewalk on North Street that has a massive break running from one end to the other. According to information from residents, it was caused by water from heavy rains. For the second straight week we will be highlighting the photo and will continue to do so until the problem no longer exists.

The National Works Agency (NWA), who is in charge of the area, said they are currently engaged in emergency repairs in other areas. When these are completed a schedule will be established to address this and other problems. The NWA was unable to establish a time frame when the emergency repairs would be completed by, or when work would begin on the broken sidewalk.
