My 72-y-o husband is having an affair

A 70-year-old woman who has been married for 40 years is now facing daily threats of divorce.

She says her husband who is 72 years old is having an affair with a 25-year-old woman.

"My husband sleeps out five nights per week and when he comes home he quarrels with me and tells me that he wants me to divorce him," she disclosed.

"I told him that he should not wait for me to divorce him but he should go ahead and do so. He tells me he wants to marry the woman and I am preventing him from moving on with his life.

"We have been married for 40 years and have four children who are all living in England. We used to live in England but we decided to return to Jamaica five years ago. My husband was a kind and loving man while we lived in England but since he returned to Jamaica he has changed.

"He has a lot of girls calling him all hours of the night and day. About six months ago he met a 25-year-old woman who lives in an adjoining district and since that time he has been having an open love affair with her.

"My husband even takes her in his car to my gate and when I talk to him about his behaviour, he says he only wants a divorce. I discussed the matter with my children and they say I should divorce him and come back to England. I worked very hard while I was in England and I do not want to leave him in the house for his women to benefit from my labour. We are joint tenants for the property and we both used our money to purchase the house," she said.

If you are serious about divorcing your husband then you should consult a lawyer and also ask him to represent you in the division of the matrimonial property. The fact that you are joint tenants on the title means that you are entitled to a half of the value of the property.
