A 37-year-old man accused of raping a female co-worker at a funeral parlour in Santa Cruz, St .Elizabeth, was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Errol Hue, a watchman from Nain District in the parish, is schedule to return to Court on September 25.

Allegations are that on August 24, 2006, the complainant, who is employed as a secretary at the parlour, was alone in the office when the accused walked inside. She was pulled into a room and raped.

The court was told that the accused, who is said to be a cocaine addict, was not satisfied the first time and forced the woman into another room among dead bodies where she was again sexually assaulted.

The complainant did not appear in court as the court was informed that she is afraid of the accused.
