Local authorities are again scrambling to institute what is considered an acceptable and appropriate car pound for St. Thomas.
After many failed attempts, another effort is being made as the problem of the illegal public trasport operators have overwhelmed the authorities.
At a St Thomas Traffic Authority meeting at the National Works Agency, Morant Bay office on Wednesday, town planners, while recognising the urgent need for a pound, have still not yet managed to put concrete plans in place, for the start up of a facility.
At the same meeting it was learnt that other problems such as the size of the bus park, were arising.
Other problems are eminating from what many describe as "the likkle place dem call bus park", which the authorities so vehemently called the Transport Centre on Church Street, downtown Morant Bay.
According to some stakeholders the park, known as the Transport Centre on Church Street in downtown, Morant Bay, is not environmentally friendly.
Concerns are that the facility does not have adequate sanitary convenience, seating, snack counters or a place for resting. In addition drivers do not comply with instructions of the wardens.
