Man shot dead at dance

A man was shot dead and another man injured during a dispute at the Constant Spring-based street dance, Uptown Mondays, yesterday morning.

Dead is Dwayne Phillip Dunkley, a 22-year-old carpenter from Beadles Boulevard, Santa Cruz , St. Elizabeth, while injured is Clive 'Fulla Blacks' Burrell, a 36-year-old vendor of a Kingston 20 address.

Fatal argument

Police reports are that Dunkley was sitting on a wall at Uptown Mondays which is held at Savannah Plaza on Constant Spring Road. While sitting there, an argument developed between Burrell and the driver of a F150 motor truck who had bounced over his bicycle.

Burrell then grabbed a piece of stick which he pointed at the man who then pulled a handgun and fired two shots which caught Burrell in the upper left shoulder and Dunkley. Both were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where Dunkley was pronounced dead and Burrell admitted.

No one has been charged with the murder or shooting and the Half-Way Tree Police continue to investigate.
