Jamaican Andrew Ramgeet registered four weekend victories and has now risen to fifth in the jockeys' standings at Mountaineer Park.
Ramgeet won twice on Friday and added victories on Saturday and Sunday to boost his winning tally so far this season to 10.
He is 11 behind leading rider Huber Villa-Gomez (21). Rex Stokes is lying second, followed by Dana Whitney (13), Wade Rini (11), and Ramgeet, with Trinidad and Tobago's Ossie Pereira sixth on nine wins.
In the US$10,100 second race over six furlongs on Friday night, Ramgeet confidently steered the 7-to-2 bet Sir Perfection to a narrow front-running victory.
He sent the four-year-old gelding into a marginal lead early, shot clear late on the backstretch, and comfortably repelled a late race challenge from the 4-5 favourite Igottaguy under Trinidadian jockey Ossie Pereira.
Sir Perfection won by three quarters of a length and clocked one minute 13.28 for the victory.
CONVINCING WIN
Ramgeet completed his double with a more convincing win in the US$24,200 seventh race, also over six furlongs.
Astride the three-year-old filly Our Scarlett, Ramgeet recovered quickly from a slow start and challenged for the lead on the far turn.
The three-time Jamaica champion jockey took command entering the home-stretch and pulled clear with the 2-1 favourite Our Scarlett to win by 6-1/4 lengths.
On Saturday, Ramgeet completed three wins in two race days with a smashing eight-length victory aboard the 4-5 favourite Watch and Wager in the US$11,200 10th race over 5-1/2 furlongs.
Ramgeet had the eight-year-old gelding Watch and Wager in front from the start, measuring fractions of 22.60 and 46.15 at the first two quarters, and stopped the clock at 1:05.01.
On Sunday, Ramgeet guided the 6-5 favourite Captain Troy to a 5-1/2 length victory in the US$17,500 second race over 4-1/2 furlongs.
Trinidad and Tobago's Ray Ganpath was also a winner on Sunday, scoring with the 16-1 outsider Borntobelucky in the third race.
Borntobelucky came from behind and galloped to a 3-1/2 length victory for Ganpath's fourth win of the three-week-old season.
