Jamaicans win in Greece

Commonwealth Games champions Omar Brown, Maurice Wignall,and Novlene Williams secured wins while Steve Mullings, returning to competition after a long break, finished third at yesterday's Thessaloniki Grand Prix in Greece.

Brown won the 200m event in 20.49, beating Darvis Patton 20.50. Mullings, who was returning following a two-year ban imposed by the Jamaica Athletic Amateur Association (JAAA), a year ago, finished third in the men's 200m in 20.54.

In the men's 100m where Mullings was also third in 10.31. Trinidad and Tobago's 100m World Championships silver medallist, Darrel Brown, took the event in 10.11.

Wignall won the 110m hurdles in a season best 13.29. Americans Aubrey Herring (13.38) and Ron Bramlett (13.40) finished second and third respectively.

In the women's 400m, Williams took the event in 50.37 seconds while Loraine Fenton (50.84), Shereefa Lloyd (51.46) and Nadia Davy (53.49) were third, fifth and eighth respectively.

Sanjay Ayre was 10th in the men's 400m in 47.14. Ashely Jamel of United States 45.29.
