By Stephanie Elliot, Star Writer

clarendon

Derrick Manning, of Stewarton District Mocho, Clarendon, is booked to reappear in court on August 28, 2006, where a preliminary inquiry on a matter of buggery against him is expected to be done.

According to court files, on February 7 of this year, a man was walking along the Foya Main Road, Mocho when the accused invited him into his house to get some food. The reports indicate that upon entering the house, the victim was locked inside and the accused proceeded to take off his shorts, put him on the bed and sexually assault him.

GRANTED BAIL

When the matter was mentioned on March 3, this year, Manning was granted $50,000 bail. Court records also showed that the victim in this matter is in his 40s and believed to be mentally challenged.

Constable Colley Howard, of the Mocho Police, is the investigating officer in this matter.
