Rodney 'Bounty Killer' Pryce and his child's mother will have to wait until August 11 for the trial to begin against the deejay after he was accused of assaulting her.
Pryce's lawyer was in the circuit court and therefore was unable to start the trial on Monday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
The artiste is charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. The allegations are that on May 23, at approximately 1:45 a.m. Julian Rambally, the mother of Pryce's 5-year-old son was passing the 7th Avenue Plaza in St. Andrew on her way to a party when Pryce stopped her and an argument began.
PUNCHED IN FACE
The complainant was allegedly punched in the face several times, dragged some distance away and her head slammed into a wall. He allegedly drove her to her apartment despite her requests to be taken to the hospital.
She was later taken by her friends to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment. Pryce was subsequently arrested, charged and granted $20,000 station bail.
Another incident is alleged to have also taken place at the deejay's Kingston apartment in July last year and was reported. However, he was not charged until June 7 when he appeared in court. The artiste pleaded not guilty to charges.
On Monday the court was told that Pryce was adhering to the conditions of his bail and is paying child support for his son.
