Cain and Abel?

A STEPSON OF legendary reggae artiste Denroy Morgan, was shot dead on Tuesday morning, allegedly by another stepson, who is now on the run.

According to police reports, both men had a dispute on Monday. This reportedly spilled over into Tuesday morning when at about 6:15 a.m., during a confrontation a firearm was pulled and Devon 'Igo' Foster, 57, was shot 12 times all over the body. He was pronounced dead at the Princess Margaret Hospital. The police are seeking Michael 'Mikey' Brown for questioning in relation to the incident.

The shooting occurred on Morgan's property in Style Hut, Port Morant, St.Thomas. The police also report that the weapon used in the incident was an illegal one.

Foster was the child of one of Morgan's wives, while the accused man is said to be a child of another wife.

When THE STAR spoke with Denroy Morgan, he expressed grave disappointment at the event which had transpired, stressing that he did not raise his children to be violent.

"I'm in pain, I've lost two sons because of disobedience to the true word of God. I have taught them to love and respect each other, to nourish and protect each other as brothers, and because of disobedience to that, today I'm suffering the pain of losing two sons. I've raised my family on the Christian teaching and if they had obeyed that teaching then their anger and ego would not have overcome them. It is a pain but not a shame because I have stood for the righteousness, truth and livity that I live by."

He also gave his version of how the incident happened: "The one who died, he died for a cause, he stood for the truth, cleanliness and righteousness, he was talking about it and the other brother heard and started throwing words. The one who died didn't sleep there that night, but came by in the morning and as he approached the other one, he started firing at him."
