Kwami Gayle - CONTRIBUTED
ENA WILLIAMS FEARS that life in the quiet Golden Spring community may have finally pushed her son over the edge. Her 23-year-old son, Kwami Gayle, always felt that life in the community was too slow for him and not having a job made it harder for him to cope.
Gayle has been missing for almost a month after he left his home in June to spend time with some relatives in Hellshire, St. Catherine. His mother told THE STAR that his father had arranged for him to spend time with the relatives after he complained that he was tired of being in Golden Spring.
But things may not have been what Kwami expected. The relatives he stayed with told his mother that he simply packed up and walked away. Because he has no cellular phone, his mother has not been able to contact him and says she has heard nothing of him since then.
Williams told THE STAR that her son , "Is not a bad yute, is not a guy whe mix up. Im kinda have a likkle sickness in him head. Sometime im talk and laugh to himself, but I think is cause im depressed and alone."
She is also pleading for anyone with information to contact her as soon as possible. "Someone can call mi an mek mi jus pick im up. I'd rather look after him than know seh people a abuse him. It would hard fi know seh smaddy tek up mi nice, nice pickney an abuse im."
If Kwami is alive, Williams wants him to contact her and "mek mi know seh im alright. Sometime it come in like di sumting want trouble mi nerves. It very stressful."
