THERE IS THE saying 'you are what you wear' and most artistes are making sure that they present the right image for this year's Sumfest, so much so, that some of them are still confused about what to wear.
Dancehall artiste, Macka Diamond, who will be on this year's show says she has been looking for the best buy, but hasn't settled on anything thus far: "Sumfest for this year, I am going to be wearing anything that comes naturally. Me naw really build up myself ... Right now I'm just shopping around. But I'm going to let someone design it for me though."
She, however, spoke of what fans should expect from her: "I am going to wear something that can enhance my performance this year," Macka said.

DJ Spice, who is also known for her risqué style, says she too has started looking for clothes for the show which is more than a week away. "Me see a bad, bad suit in L.A., at the Beverly Hills Centre on Rodeo Drive at the Gucci store, but Sumfest ... Me see a next suit in Manhattan, but I will be buying something, like the week before Sumfest. Me see a next dress in Paris too, but if me look everywhere and me nuh see nothing, then I will go back and get one."
Though Spice will be looking around in stores, she says she prefers those designed specifically for the event: "I prefer designer made, because then it can be an exclusive thing," Spice said.
Noted dancehall designer, Biggy, says he will be designing clothes for Spice and the duo Sugar Roy and Conrad Crystal for this year's show.
He says the designs range from $12,000 to $15,000 but, "It is based on the designs. They mainly come to do show clothes, they don't come for regular things. So they will come to do clothes for Sumfest, Sunsplash and Sting - all the major shows."
As for whether or not the artistes keep the clothes, Biggy explained that the clothes are mainly worn overseas after they are worn at a local show.
"It's too expensive to wear something one time."
