KC Wizards waive Jamaica's Hue

kansas city, missouri (cmc)

Soccer side Kansas City Wizards have waived Jamaican midfielder Jermaine Hue less than a year after acquiring him from local Premiership side Harbour View.

The Wizards released Hue last week after a moderate stint at the Missouri outfit where he has been unable to secure a regular spot in the first team.

Hue, 28, joined Kansas City in October last year, toward the backend of the 2005 season and made three appearances.

He made only a few appearances since the 2006 season started in April and spent more time on the bench and with the reserve team than seeing first-team play.

Hue, who has a strong passing game and helped Jamaica win the Digicel Caribbean Cup last year in Barbados, got only one start and appeared in only two of the Wizards' 15 games so far this season.

The Wizards are currently third in the Eastern Conference standings with 20 points, trailing DC United (35) and New England Revolutions (21).
