TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES were the only names withheld yesterday when the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) released its teams for the 20th Central American and Caribbean Games, set for Cartagena, Colombia, July 25-29.
Mike Fenell, president of the JOA, said the absence of the track and field team was as a result of the recently-concluded National Championships.
The deadline for entry was on June 20, but Fenell said a preliminary list was sent from which the relevant changes will be made.
"We can understand their (JAAA) difficulties when they're getting late entries and late substitutions but we must get those confirmations before we put those names out in the public," Fennell said.
