Manly love

DEAR PASTOR,

I have a problem. I am a man and I have been having a love relationship with another man for almost two years. The problem is, I know that it's wrong, but for me I could not stop loving him. What can I do to change my way of thinking? Should I stop seeing this person or should I tell my parents about this situation. My mother might understand more than my father.

I am trying to understand what has happened to me. I am a Christian. I believe in prayer and fasting; but I think it's going to take more than that. I am desperately awaiting your advice.

D., St. Catherine, Jamaica

Dear D.,

No one is beyond God's mercy. What I believe is that you need spiritual deliverance, but in addition to that, you need professional help. You need to see a psychologist who would be able to help you. You have indicated that you need help, so that is good start. Anyone who sees the need for help can receive help.

In the meantime, you should cut off all communication with this man. By that I mean, don't accept any of his calls, don't call him or visit him. Get help immediately.
