AT THE RECENTLY held Portmore Awards Show, held at Sugar Man's Beach in Hellshire, MC Nuffy honoured artistes Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Lady Saw, Anthony B and others by giving them 'Lifetime Achievement Awards'. However, 'the doctor' Beenie Man left without an award in his hand.
An obviously disappointed Beenie Man, while closing the show said, "Nuffy, mi realise seh yuh nuh gi mi no award, but I am di mans!"
However, MC Nuffy says it was a misunderstanding, as he got caught up and was unable to present Beenie Man with his award at the show.
"Mi waan mek a public apology to Beenie Man, because him award was there (at the show) but because mi get overjoyed wid my award from KC Jockey, an mi get caught up wid interviews wid Hype and RE TV, an by di time mi fi finish, som'n happen outa gate an mi just neva get a chance fi deal wid Beenie award - cause mi seh mi woulda jus wait till him done perform," MC Nuffy told The Star.
Nuffy says, neither Beenie nor Bounty were booked for the show, but artistes usually know that there are awards to be handed out.
"Him (Beenie) neva book fi di show, but award was there for him, Bounty neva book fi it either, but mi always have award fi di artiste dem, mi always a surprise dem, but mi haffi apologise to Beenie, all TOK and Blacka Ranks to, because dem did fi get award to," Nuffy said.
Nuffy says he intends to make an official presentation to Beenie Man.
"Beenie award mi a guh gi him a him 'Summer Sizzle' show, it name 'Lifetime Achievement Award King of the Dancehall," Nuffy said.
