THOUSANDS WERE BLESSED while scores renewed their vows to the Messiah at the Power of Faith Ministries annual International Convention held recently at the biblical institution's headquarters in the Portmore Town Centre.
Under the auspices of head clergyman Bishop Dr. Delford Davis and his wife Minister Petrova Davis, the event officially got under way during early Sunday morning service, with Bishop Davis declaring the convention officially opened under the theme: 'Rebuilding the First Love Fire'. Rev. Ch 2, v 1-7.
Mid-week service could only be described as 'Awesome Wednesday'. Guest preacher Bishop Dr. Michael A. Frith head of the Family of Christian Church of God Ministries International Incorporated in the United States with the aid of the Holy Spirit transformed the church building into a worship centre. The building was placed literally under a 'spiritual fire', with persons running wild with the spirit of Christ and speaking in different tongues. The burden of Bishop Frith's message was so overwhelming that he left the microphone at the altar not before leaving the congregation in a spiritual fire and others pondering his message.
NO STONES UNTURNED
Armed with the theme, the Holy Bible and an anointing from God Bishop Frith blasted his way into the hearts of the congregation while leaving no stones unturned. The Christian warrior did not 'pretty up' the gospel and hit out against anything that was not of God.
He chastised brethrens who professed they loved God who they are unable to see, but hate a brother they can see. The clergyman said a common problem in the church is a 'lack of love.' In an emotional voice Bishop Frith declared that what the church is fighting against is not indifference of people in the various denominations, but evil spirits.
Bishop Frith explained that: "Personal sacrifice means nothing without the love of Christ." The preacher noted that the church is under attack. "There is a disease that invaded the body of Christ' (The church and its people), which includes apathy and indifference, said Frith.
Conventions are a time for churches to celebrate the goodness of Christ, also a time for brethrens to fellowship with one another and a rekindling of the Holy Spirit. A number of churches from Jamaica and overseas were present at the convention.
