NEWSPAPER COLUMNIST MARK Wignall was ordered to return to the Kingston and St. Andrew Traffic Court on July 18 to face a host of charges he received after several traffic violations.
Tom Tavares-Finson, Wignall's attorney, asked the court for a trial date on Friday because there were things he needed to do.
PRODUCE THE DOCUMENT
Although he requested a trial date, presiding Resident Magistrate, Mrs. Dunbar Green, said if he had the documentation to prove his innocence, he should just produce them and dispose of the matters.
However, Finson indicated that he still needed time and would like the matters to be placed on the trial list.
The RM agreed and allowed the matter to be set for July to allow them to bring the requisite documentation. Finson also indicated to the court that he will complete all the matters on that date.
Wignall appeared in court to answer charges of unlicensed motor vehicle, no car insurance, no certificate of fitness, failure to produce a driver's license and failure to provide a proper address.
The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred about 12:30 pm on June 2, where a grey Toyota Tercel, registration plate 8674 DU, was stopped by traffic police.
