We need to know how to tackle bird flu

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I felt so amazed learning that our hospitals aren't ready to tackle avian flu also known as bird flu if it hits Jamaica.

Avian flu, it is said, poses the most dangerous death threat to humans which is greater than any other disease. This is said to be so because the ability to control the H5N1 virus strain associated with bird flu is grave.

I am beseeching the Ministry of Health to get our hospital facilities ready to arrest the scourge of this disease or any other threatening our existence.

Here is a saying from Peter Tosh, "We got to clean up Jah creation or there will be no future for you and me".

I am etc.,
