As part of the hunt for child killers, today THE STAR continues its series geared towards informing the public about the unsolved murders.
A reward totalling $100,000 is being offered for the arrest and charge of person or persons responsible for the death of our children. Call Crime Stop toll free at 1-888-991-4000. Full confidentiality will be maintained.
If there is anything that can be said about Crime Stop it is its ability to maintain confidentiality.
Since it was set up 18 years ago, no harm has ever come to anyone who has given information to Crime Stop. However, people are still skeptical of giving information to the organisation.
"People still don't believe the information is confidential although we tell them that the only way somebody can tell that they went to Crime Stop is if they give out the information themselves," explains Prudence Gentles, Co-ordinator for Crime Stop.
"All the information is kept in strict confidence and we don't try to find out where the person is calling from," she added.
Gentles said she has come across cases where people have told her they told someone they contacted Crime Stop but this is rare as most persons who give information are encouraged not to tell anyone.
"Sometimes they will say I told my friend or so, but we usually tell them not to say anything. But people will do that," she said
