Madden goes back in time

Ferdinand Madden - RICARDO MAKYN

FUNERAL DIRECTOR FERDINAND Madden describes himself as a man who loves a variety of music. The frontman for Madden's funeral home explains he loves classical, jazz, joints from the Motown era and also music from Smokey Robinson.

His favourite picks, however, includes some local artistes and musicians.

His five favourite songs are:

1) Don Drummond - Green Island: I used to take trombone lessons at the time and I like his solo on that one.

2) Staple Singers - I Still Love You: The Staple singers had a lot of uptempo songs and it was a slow song and it reminded me of good times I used to have. At the time we went out to listen to music and it stood out because it was a beautiful song which you could listen to.

3) Curtis Mayfield - Queen Majesty: I liked the entire album.

4) Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes featuring Sharon Page - I Hope We Can Be Together: The solo from Sharon Page is good and also I liked the melody of the song.

5) Marvin Gaye - What's Going On: I like it because of the situation he was hitting out against and I can relate to it as well.
