THE JAMAICA AMATEUR Athletics Association yesterday announced that Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) will be the title sponsor of its National Junior and Senior Championships for the third straight year.
SVL has provided $1 million to the meet organisers and SVL President and chief executive officer Brian George said, "The sponsorship emphasizes our (SVL) committment to youth development, sports being just one vehicle in achieving this vision."
The championships will be held at the National Stadium beginning tomorrow and continues until Sunday. It will decide Jamaica's team for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Colombia, July 25-29, the World Junior Championships in China, August 15-20, the CAC Junior Championships in Trinidad, July 14-16, and the North America, Central America and Caribbean Under-23 Championships in the Dominican Republic from July 7-9.
The National championships promises exciting match-ups from Jamaica's premier athletes including Asafa Powell, Usain Bolt, Sherone Simpson, Danny McFarlane, Jermaine Gonzales, Davian Clarke and Sonita Sutherland
Action begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
