Bearer killed while conducting business

Police officers look at the body of a man who was killed by gunmen at the gate of an auto parts store in the Corporate Area. - NORMAN GRINDLEY

A 31-YEAR-OLD delivery man/bearer was shot dead as he conducted business at a popular auto parts store in the Corporate Area on yesterday morning.

According to the police, Oral Brown, of a Vineyard Town address, was conducting business inside the store when he was attacked by gunmen. His messenger bag was taken from him, but police say no cash, only cheques and other documents were inside.

Although the circumstances suggest robbery as a motive, the police are not ruling out other factors and say they are following additional leads. When THE STAR visited the scene, Brown's body was still lying at the entrance to the establishment. He reportedly collapsed there after running from inside the building.
