Gay son's confession

Dear Pastor,

I hope you can help me. I am gay and I do not know how to deal with being gay in Jamaica. I have been deported and I have been here for eight months. Being home is not the same. I do not know when I will be able to travel again which is depressing me because I miss my lover.

How do I tell my mother and father that I am gay?

T. D., Clarendon, Jamaica

Dear T. D.,

Your parents will eventually find out. So, if that is your lifestyle and you don't want to receive any help in changing your lifestyle, you should tell your parents. Don't allow them to hear from someone else. Tell them when both of them are together.

I cannot encourage anybody to practise homosexuality. I believe its abnormal behaviour. I am not condemning you, but I trust that you would consider your lifestyle and seek to change it.

Pastor
