Female constable shot and robbed of $110,000

A WOMAN CONSTABLE was shot and robbed of $110,000 by an armed man in Gregory Park, Portmore, on Saturday.

Reports are that shortly before 8:00 p.m., the female constable, attached to the Caymanas police was on a passenger bus in the Gregory Park area, when, upon reaching a section of the Gregory Park main road, a male passenger requested a stop.

As the man exited the bus, he pulled a gun on the constable, and demanded that she give him her handbag. She refused his demands and the man opened fire and shot her. He took the bag containing the money and made a successful escape.

The injured woman was taken to hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition. Up to press time though, reports were that the officer was sleeping and in stable condition.
