MAKYN THE NEWS

WHILE 'MAKYN' YOUR way along the Melrose Hill main road heading towards Kirkvine, Manchester, you'll notice a little hut on the left side of the road with a very skilful potter named Paul Wiles, who has been at it for over two decades and loves what he does.

His motto is 'without hard work there is nothing' but he has been having a problem. Thanks to the Melrose Hill bypass, fewer persons are using the main road, so he sells less. This, however, does not stop his faithful customers who always come back for the fine-quality pottery he produces. Paul learnt pottery while working with a potter at an early age and says he would not do anything else. It's great when you find someone who really loves what they do and Wiles is one such person.
