HOUSTON, TEXAS, CMC
THE KANSAS CITY Wizards, with Jamaican defender Shavar Thomas on their playing roster, beat the Houston Dynamo 2-1 to jump to the top of the Eastern Conference standings in United States Major League Soccer (MLS) on Saturday night.
Houston Dynamo lost at home for the first time in club history when second-half goals by Sasha Victorine and Jose Burciaga carried the Wizards to a thrilling come-from- behind victory at Houston's new Robertson Stadium home.
Trinidad and Tobago's Scott Sealy and Jamaican Jermaine Hue saw no action for the KC Wizards and viewed the entire 90 minutes from the bench.
The result left Houston in a three-way tie at the top of the Western Conference with Chivas USA and FC Dallas, who rallied to a come-from-behind win over Real Salt Lake at Pizza Hut Park in Texas.
Chris Klein opened the scoring for Real in the 36th minute with an accurate-curling free-kick after Jamaican Andy Williams had played the ball to him.
In other matches, Jamaican international Tyrone Marshall failed to convert a 62nd minute rebound for defending champions Los Angeles Galaxy in their 1-1 with Chicago Fire.
