British tourists robbed

BY JONIQUE GAYNOR, Staff Reporter

AFTER BEING ATTACKED by armed hoodlums less than an hour after arriving in the island, 76-year-old Calvin Jones is contemplating whether he should ever come back to Jamaica.

The senior citizen along with his 75-year-old brother and a 67-year-old female friend, arrived in the island from London on March 24. Jones is a frequent visitor to the island and stays in Vineyard Town on all his visits.

Less than 10 minutes after pulling up the at the house, they were held up by armed men who stole his cellular phone and his wallet containing around 550 pounds. His female companion was robbed of her handbag, cellular phone, passport and medication. This was her first visit to Kingston.

All three are terribly shaken and are harbouring thoughts of not returning to the island. Jones told THE STAR, "I can't express how I feel. I have been coming to Jamaica for years. I come here every year and what happen jus shake me up and gimme a mind not to come back."
