THE EDITOR, Madam,
Jamaicans abroad are crying out for their country Jamaica. They love Jamaica but do not have the courage to come as regularly as they would like because of fear.
Jamaica's light has been darkened by corruption and crime. They feel discouraged by the news that they read on the Internet and in the papers. They are terribly afraid and some say their feet will never touch this soil again.
While others still yearn to come back, they are waiting for things to change. They cannot accept the way things are and they believe that it may not change. But even one day before they die, Jamaica will be their home again.
Those who come from time to time mention the indiscipline on the roads with the drivers.
Jamaica is so stained but we cannot give up. We cannot become overcome with negativity. There are some positive signs but it is shocking to see how, in other areas, things are detoriating so rapidly, particularly the standard of living of the poor.
Day by day there is more and more sadness. Because of the high cost of living and youths lurking at the corner without jobs, persons are so stressed that it makes them angry. People are wondering how will they be able to have a roof over their heads and send their children to school.
This inferno, how can it be quenched?
All Jamaicans are crying. Here, there and everywhere.
We love our beautiful country Jamaica, do not destroy it.
I am etc.,
