'Likkle, Biggy' Dream chicks

BY ANTHONY MINOTT, Freelance Writer

Twin sisters Josette (left) and Jacean Wedderburn - ANTHONY MINOTT

TWIN SISTERS JOSETTE and Jacean Wedderburn, born to parents Cecile and Theresa Wedderburn some 19 years ago, are not identical, but what they share with each other is love and a common bond that keeps the sibling fire burning.

DREAMY EYES

"We are not identical twins, but what we both share in common is that we both have dreamy eyes, and we defend each other," said Jacean otherwise called 'Biggy' because she was the first of the pair to be born.

Jossette, the smaller twin, was given the nickname 'Likkle' by relatives because she was delivered after her sister and this name has stuck until now.

'Biggy', who was born one hour before 'Likkle', says they made a promise to each other from age 13, that they will always see each other every holiday. This is a promise none of the sisters have broken.

The siblings, born on November 11, 1986, got separated temporarily at 13 while attending Caledonia All-Age School in Kingston. 'Biggy' went to Darliston, Westmoreland, to live with her aunt, and attended Maud McLeod High while 'Likkle' stayed in Portmore, St. Catherine, with her mother, father and three brothers.

She recently graduated from Bridgeport High. "Every holiday we have to see each other though it is a policy that was made between the both of us," a smiling 'Biggy' expressed.

Every chance 'Biggy' gets to come to Portmore she jumps at it. The long summer holidays and the Christmas season are the two main times of the year she comes to Portmore for a reunion with her sister and family.

Jacean said what she loves about her sister is her eyes. "She has beautiful eyes, but she 'ignorant' bad. I have to scold her one or two times, however, two minutes later we are friends again," a jovial 'Biggy' explained.

She sees herself as quite friendly and easy to talk to, but can get angry if someone constantly provokes her. Even though 'Biggy' can get emotional at times 'Likkle' says she loves how 'Biggy' is quiet and does not give trouble.
