FORMER HERBERT MORRISON Student Nickiesha Anderson won two events and finished second in another at last weekend's National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Indoor Track & Field National Championships held at Memorial Center "Mini Dome", Johnson City.
In the women's 200m, Anderson, now representing Missouri Baptist (23.60) led home a trio of Jamaicans, Nickiesha Wilson of Oklahoma Baptist ( 24.64) and Anna Kay Campbell of Lindenwood (24.79).
Anderson captured the 400m in 54.72 seconds, again leaving Wilson, the niece of Holmwood's coach Maurice Wilson, in second in 54.79.
Anderson, a Carifta Under-20 gold medallist, finished second in the 60m dash in 7.59 seconds.
Wilson was part of her school's 4x400m relay team, which took gold in 3:46.85 while Anderson and Sherlene Duncan's team's finished last in 3:57.55.
Missouri Baptist's Maresia Pencil (1:32.50) finished second in the women's 600m ahead of her former Edwin Allen teammate, Kayann Thompson, now at Lindenwood (1: 32.60). Oklahoma Baptist's Kyli Bean won the event in a meet record 1:3235.
Pencil was eighth in the women's 1000m in 3:10.65 while Campbell (1.70m) was second in the women's high jump. Pencil's team finished second in the 4x800m relay in 9: 02.43 behind Simon Fraser University (8:50.86), both going under the previous meet record.
Oklahoma Baptist's Latoya Graves won the women's 60m hurdles in 8.42 seconds, beating Missouri Baptist's Nadina Marsh (8.50).
Marsh, a former St. Jago student and Carifta gold medallist, won the Pentathlon with 3893 points.
Former St. Jago athlete Rascive Grant (21.62) finished fifth in the men's 200m.
Camoi Hood of Missouri Baptist (15.81m) was 11th in the men's shot put.
