Warrior King. - FILE
TODAY THE STAR continues one of its latest features, a weekly review of new songs. Three musical minds with different tastes will analyse each song and will grade it on vocal ability, lyrics, musical arrangement and appeal. Songs that make the grade will be given our stamp of approval, 'Mus Buss'. For those songs that fail, well they will be dumped under the 'Caan Buss' heading.
The three reviewers welcome feedback from the artistes and the public about the column. Send your comments to bussdem@hotmail.com, or if you are an artiste wishing your song to be reviewed, send the CD to:

This week the Mus Buss/ Caan Buss team will be reviewing Warrior King's song Meditation. It's a song about the use of marijuana in the meditation process.
Queen: I like the song. Warrior King's use of the Kutchie rhythm sort of gives the song the good old dancehall tune feel and this should make it a hit in the dancehall.
xXx: Mi nuh know. It sound alright. It sound like every other Warrior King tune weh mi hear. Like there's nothing different. But it sound alright though.
TAE: The punch line pan dah tune yah catchy. Is a chant weh nuff a di rasta man dem wi love fi sing.
Queen: I think a key thing he did with this song was to keep the lyrics simple. As TAE said the hook bad. And the verses are not difficult to learn. This makes it easier for an audience to vibe to the tune when they can sing along.
xXx: Well mi nuh smoke suh mi caan really identify wid dah song yah still. Suh if it wen deh play paan di radio mi wouldn't call een and ask fi it pull up. Not dat it sound bad or anything but, not my speed. I can't find anything unusual or special about it.
TAE: Di tune nuh really moving still, just dat it a try bring cross a positive message.
xXx: Which is .....?
TAE: Meditate something bout di Almighty, but I guess all this meditation is inspired through smoking the herb. A rasta thing.
Queen: Is not just a Rasta ting because you have nuff herbs man out deh who will love di song. But mi haffi seh is a tune fi dancehall. The use of the old dancehall rhythm which is popular in the dancehall will make the song popular there. So It 'mus buss' dere. Mi nuh know bout elsewhere.
xXx: Yes I agree wid you guys, it ago buss inna di rasta circle but I don't know if it going move the masses. So if that's the only place it has the potential to buss, I have to give it a caan buss.
TAE: Worried! Mi coulden really seh nutten much bout dah tune yah. It was just a normal tune wid a normal Rasta vibe. Mi ago gwaan meditate, but mi nuh really tink it ago buss right yah now.
