Richie Spice's song 'Lonely' will get some company on the Mus' Buss heap. - WINSTON SILL
TODAY THE STAR continues one of its latest features, a weekly review of new songs. Three musical minds with different tastes will analyse each song and will grade it on vocal ability, lyrics, musical arrangement and appeal. Songs that make the grade will be given our stamp of approval, 'Mus' Buss'. For those songs that fail, well they will be dumped under the 'Caan Buss' heading.
The three reviewers welcome feedback from the artistes and the public about the column.

This week THE STAR's Mus' Buss/Caan Buss team reviews Richie Spice's new song Lonely. The song is about a lonely woman who finally sees the man she wants to be with.
xXx: I like the song and the way he sounds on the rhythm, especially the way him change him "nah, nah, nanna, naah" to "oooh's" similar to Sizzla's - me not knocking it, it still sound like him. But some parts I really can't hear what he is saying, I don't know if it's me or him.
HEARTBREAK SONG
TAE: This sounds like a heartbreak song, and only if in pain, should one listen to this song.
Queen: Bwoy him sound lonely fi real.
TAE: Can't really figure out if he is speaking about a girl who left him, or he left a girl or 'lonely' won't leave him alone. Worried!
Queen: I agree with xXx. Is a thing I've been noticing in a lot of his songs when his pitch falls, you can't really hear the words, and that's a real negative. Otherwise it's a nice reggae tune.
TAE: Jus' cool Queen, style a style, an style caan spoil. I like it, it's his unique style, even the start of the song, when him a sing "oooo oooo" in his falsetto voice, it bad, a fi him ting dat.
CAN'T HEAR
Queen: TAE, it's okay for everyone to have their own style, but when his voice falls to a point when you can't hear, it's just bad. Mi nuh si why the listeners fi a guess wah him a seh. Jus' be clear.
XXx: A 'bout four time now me listen to the song, back to back and is still a mystery ... One big mystery. But me sure people will love it anyway. You know how Jamaican people are, if they can't hear what you saying, they'll just put in their own thing and sing it out loud as ever anyway.
TAE: The rhythm is fitting for the song, but I personally think it's a little too much on the slow side. But it is effective in setting the mood and pace of the song.
Queen: Apart from the drawback, I like the song and knowing Jamaicans, if the rhythm move them and it convey the right vibes then dem wi work wid it. Suh, mi haffi seh Mus' Buss.
xXx: I like the song, at least, the parts that I can hear. I also like the slow, easy vibin reggae beat and his voice, so yeah, I could find myself listening to it over and over. Plus him sound like him brother Spanner pon dis ... always a plus. All if yuh listen to the bridge "She said lonely is the night/She need me by her side/ So come and shine your light so bright/I'll be coming like an angel to your..." (can't hear what him say) The man baaaad when it come to the chords, but him seriously need fi improve on the clarity. But overall, I think it Mus' Buss.
TAE: Yow, when it come on to the roots, rock, reggae kinda vibes, I can't really complain, so I have to agree that Richie Spice tune Mus' Buss roun' ere!
