RASBERT TURNER, PORTMORE STAR Writer

MAYOR OF PORTMORE George Lee, organiser for Team Portia for Portmore, said he is ecstatic about Prime Minister-designate Portia Simpson Miller's victory at the recent election for president of the People's National Party (PNP).

Mayor Lee said he has no doubt that the new president will be a unifying force in the PNP. "I have all the confidence that she is able to become a very successful leader if given the chance. And to this end, I believe she will put her best foot forward for us," Lee told THE PORTMORE STAR.

Mr. Lee said that he hoped that Jamaica on a whole will lend their support to Mrs. Simpson Miller to help her in her pursuit of greatness.

Many other Portmore residents echoed similar sentiments to THE PORTMORE STAR. "Yes man, a Sister P we want because a time fi we gi di woman a chance," remarked one woman.

The consensus is that it's a welcome change and a breath of fresh air for Portmore and Jamaica in general.
