Marsha and Daymion: Destined to marry

IT SEEMS AS if fate had decided that Marsha Walker and Daymion Pabarue should spend their lives together, as, at birth, Marsha was given the name of Daymion's older sister. Hence, it was a matter of destiny being fulfilled when Marsha and Daymion got married on December 29, 2005.

On the blessed day that they would be joined as man and wife, Marsha was seen dressed in a gown with pearl beads trimming it all around, including the four-foot long train. The sunlight gave the scene a magnificent backdrop.

The ceremony began minutes after 4 p.m. with four beautifully-dressed young ladies, clad in lavender, meeting four smartly- attired young groomsmen, who wore black suits and lavender ties. The bridesmaids were followed by the mini-bride and page boy, then the ring bearer. The maid of honour, Marsha's sibling Tanicka Walker, also wearing a lavender dress, then made her way to the altar. She was followed by the flower girl.

By this time, the best man had to wipe the sweat from Daymion's forehead. Some members of the audience attributed Daymion's profuse sweating to nerves or just plain anxiety. The audience stood as the chord sounded and the model-shaped bride made her way down the aisle in the company of her uncle.

Marsha, 26, had a broad smile on her face as she walked down the aisle with her uncle Mark Ford, the giveaway father, at the Portmore Seventh Day Adventist Church in Portmore, St. Catherine. The smile got even broader as she was led into the arms of the waiting groom, 28-year-old Daymion, who was still sweating profusely as his bride met him near the altar.

After the ceremony, the bridal party went to Emancipation Park, to get in some hot shots of the bride and groom and posed for their photo opportunities as well. The Christmas lights that decorated the trees gave the bridal party a scenic backdrop while they posed for photographs.

Later, the bridal party went up to Smokey Hill, St. Andrew, for the reception party, where family and friends, mingled, ate and danced the night away.

"It was like destiny. His (Daymion) sister is named Marsha Pabarue and I was named after her," the new Mrs. Pabarue told Life & Times.

Marsha who is originally from Portmore, added that she met Daymion in Hayes, Clarendon, eight years ago, when she was visiting her uncle, and got more than what she bargained for.

Daymion was impressed with Marsha's personality and skin tone and her long legs. "I always loved her skin, it's really nice and she has really long legs, Daymion said of his beautiful wife. "I also love how she is domesticated. She is very helpful around the house," he noted.

"I knew that from the day we met it would work," Marsha added while grinning.

Marsha, who is a teacher at Kemp's Hill High School in Clarendon, said that Daymion is a loving husband and father and a hard-working man. Daymion serves in the Special Anti-Crime Task Force of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and travels from Clarendon to work in the Corporate Area on a daily basis. "Even though he is rough on the outside, he is soft and loving inside," said Marsha speaking of her heart-throb.

Rev. Devail Barrett presided over the wedding ceremony.

The eight-year relationship has produced a three-year-old daughter named Zoria-lee who was the also the mini-bride.

Daymion and Marsha honeymooned at an all-inclusive hotel in Negril.
