WATERHOUSE will be playing for the Premier League lead this Wednesday when they face third-place Tivoli Gardens at Drewsland.
Yesterday's away win at Village United stretched the Second Round winners' unbeaten streak to 17 league games, putting them two points off Harbour View, who must be shaking in their boots with a match in hand against champions Portmore United.
Demar Phillips opened the scoring two minutes after the break at the Elliston-Wakeland Centre before the 'Drewsland Hitman', Kevin Lamey, made it 2-0 in the 67th with his season-leading 18th goal.
The 'Village Sniper', Fabian Dawkins, pulled a goal back two minutes after Lamey's strike. His 69th minute strike moved his tally to 16, keeping Lamey honest atop the league, but wasn't enough to stop the Kingstonians from handing his team their first home loss of the season.
DREADED TRIP
Tivoli, who'll make the dreaded trip to Drewsland on Wednesday, stayed third with a 1-1 home draw against Arnett Gardens.
Goalkeeper Julian McLeish pulled off no fewer than four spectacular second-half saves to keep Arnett in the match after Patrick Graham's 63rd minute header cancelled Craig Stewart's 24th minute glance.
Arnett coach Jerome Waite must have quietly exhaled after referee Hughill Thompson ended the match with only a minute of injury-time added at the Edward Seaga Stadium.
"Man of the Match Julian McLeish had an outstanding game," he said. "Tivoli were firing from all cylinders but McLeish rose to the occasion. All in all, it could've gone either way but I'm glad for the point," he added.
Despite being peppered in the second half, Arnett could've grabbed a big advantage with the game only 11 minutes old. However, Kwame Richardson was uncharacteristically chosen to shoot a penalty after Kevin Wilson was pushed over inside the box by Victor Thompson.
Edsel Scott came up big for the homesters, going down low to block Richardson's tame shot before going in the opposite direction to thwart the Arnett striker's follow-up.
Tivoli manager Brian Rose was already looking to Wednesday's match-up against hot Waterhouse.
"We haven't beaten them in three seasons at Drewsland and we hope we can turn the table on Wednesday," he said.
In other games yesterday, Boys' Town climbed to mid-table on 34 points after a 2-0 win against Reno at Collie Smith Drive. Oneil Thompson and Denzil Watson were on target for the Red Brigade.
The Montego Bay derby was won 2-1 by Wadadah. However, Seba remain a point ahead of their rivals on 29.
The battle of the cellar dwellers took a dramatic twist at the Spanish Town Prison Oval where Rivoli, who started the day on 18 points, one ahead of Constant Spring, led 2-0 but Shawn Hunter's cracking 30-yard shot signalled the first of three goals for the visitors.
Jermaine Richards followed up with a double to give Constant Spring a come-from-behind 3-2 win, pushing his team two points clear of Rivoli but still three behind third-to-last Reno.
