Copping a cellmate

A POLICE CONSTABLE who was allegedly caught smuggling a cellphone to prisoners at the Portmore Police Station is now in custody awaiting a ruling from the the Director of Public Prosecution on whether or not he will be charged.

THE PORTMORE STAR learnt that on Wednesday February 15, about 2:45 p. m., the constable, who is attached to the station was allegedly seen giving the phone to an inmate in the lock-up by one of his superiors.

He was taken into custody by the officers who caught him. His name has been withheld until he is formally charged. The constable in question is said to be 24-years-old and has been a member of the force for three years.
